How to import Google reader feeds in Mozilla Thunderbird

Recently we discussed about configuring Mozilla Thunderbird for rss feeds over here. If you are aGoogle Reader user then you might want to transfer all those feeds to your Mozilla Thunderbird. Here is a small how to on importing Google reader feeds to Thunderbird.
  1. Login to your Google Reader account. In your Google reader page click on the settings link.
  2. In the settings page go to the Import/Export tab and select “Export your subscriptions as an OPML file”.
  3. After downloading the OPML  (.XML) file open your RSS folder in Thunderbird. There click on the “Manage subscriptions” link in the right pane.
  4. In the next window select the import option and browse to your bookmarks.xml file which you exported from the Google reader. Open that file and you are done.
  5. Your feeds now will appear in Mozilla Thunderbird.
